To relate to my previous entry on Shaykh Al-Albaanee, below is an extract of an email received from Fatwa-Online mailing list quite some time ago.. Indeed, Shaykh Al-Albaanee rahimahullaah is the Ibn Taymiyyah of this era...
On Sunday 6th October 2002 / 29th Rajab 1423, the noble Shaykh Muhammad al-Banna (hafizahullaah) was asked:
Is Shaykh Rabee' from the Kibaar al Ulamaa?
Whereupon the noble Shaykh responded:
"Who is in this time similar to him?
He knows the reality of most of the callers.
Who is like him?
He knows with proof and evidence.
He doesn't speak about anyone except with proof.
That is why I say about Rabee' Haadee is similar to Yahya ibn Ma'een in this time.
You must forgive me son, I have become old I forget, now I am 90 years.
Shaykh Ibn Baaz rahimahullaah is the Umar ibn 'Abdul-'Azeez in this era.
And Shaykh Naasirud-Deen al-Albaanee rahimahullaah is the Ibn Taymiyyah of this era.
And Shaykh Uthaymeen rahimahullaah is the Shaafi'ee of this era.
By Allaah, the most knowledgeable of our scholars in this time is Ibn Uthaymeen rahimahullaah, and the most generous is Shaykh 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn Baaz rahimahullaah, and the most knowledgeable of those differences between people and knowing the truth is Shaykh al-Albaanee rahimahullaah, and the most knowledgeable ones of Rijaal (men) with proof and evidence is Shaykh Rabee' Haadee May Allah protect him. And May Allah protect his intellect."

A post that definitely expands the chest of a salafee. Thanx for sharing this post akhi.
It's just too bad that this post cannot be found on Fatwa-Online.. Perhaps if anyone can contact its administrator, then perhaps it'd be good if he puts this up..
